Train/Bus/Taxi
Sittingbourne train station is approx 2.5 miles from the cottage.Sittingbourne train station is served by mainline services including the Highspeed service to Ebbsfleet (Eurostar station) (journey time approx 40 minutes), Stratford (for the huge Westfield shopping centre and Olympic park complex) (approx 50 minutes) and London (St Pancreas) (approx 60 minutes).
Other mainline services go to/from London Victoria (approx 70 minutes) and London Bridge/Cannon Street in peak hours (approx 60 minutes) and the Kent coast (Faversham (approx. 10 minutes), Canterbury (approx 30 minutes), Whitstable (approx 20 minutes), Herne Bay (approx 30 minutes), Margate (approx 45 minutes), Broadstairs (approx 50 minutes), Dover Priory (approx 60 minutes) etc.
Taxi journey from the station to the cottage is approx. £10.
Road from M2
Take Junction 5 – signed Sittingbourne/Sheerness. At the round take the road for the A249 (towards Maidstone), take first left sign posted for Oad Street/ Borden. Folllow Sutton Baron Road for about 2 miles into Oad Street and out through the village. Follow bend to left and turn right at the triangle junction onto Sutton Baron Road. At the end turn left onto Wrens Road and take 1st right onto Hearts Delight Road. Follow Hearts Delight Road for about ½ mile then bear left at the end of the road into Tunstall village along Tunstall Road past the church and over the speed bumps. At the cross roads go straight over onto Cromers Road. Follow Cromers road to cross roads and go straight over, up Stockers Hill. Follow to end and bear left. Opposite the pub you will see a row of terrace cottages.Old Post Cottage, No 6 St Patricks Row is nearest the pub, Candy Cottage is next door. You can park opposite the cottage or at the rear – go into Fruiterers Close and take 1st right into cul de sac. The rear of Old Post Cottage is on the far right hand side (see no. 6 on gate), Candy Cottage is no.5 on the gate.
Road from M20
Take junction 8 signed Hollingbourne and Leeds Castle. Follow signs to Hollingbourne. Drive through Hollingbourne, past the Sugar Loaves pub and up past the train station, school, church and Dirty Habit pub. Follow the road up the steep Hollingbourne Hill and over the North Kent Downs for about 4 miles, drive through Bredgar, along The Street , past Bredgar church, the village shop, garage and over the motorway bridge, follow the winding road for about 2 miles into Tunstall. Drive along Tunstall Road past the church and over the speed bumps. At the cross roads go straight over onto Cromers Road. Follow Cromers road to cross roads and go straight over, up Stockers Hill. Road from A2
Rodmersham is south east of Sittingbourne. If coming through Sittingbourne heading east towards Faversham/ Canterbury come off the A2 just as you leave Bapchild, take the right after of the petrol station - Panteny Lane.If travelling west towards Sittingbourne/London, take the left turning just after Hempstead House Hotel, Panteny Lane.
Follow Panteny Lane to end, then turn left onto Church Street, Rodmersham and follow for approx 1.5 miles, past Rodmersham church and follow round the bend to the right onto Green Lane. As you drive into the main village Rodmersham primary school is on your left hand side. Old Post Cottage is the end cottage in St Patricks Row near the Fruiterers pub, Candy Cottage is next door. You can park opposite the cottage or at the rear – go into Fruiterers Close and take 1st right into cul de sac. The rear of Old Post Cottage is on the far right hand side (see no. 6 on gate), Candy Cottage is no.5 on the gate.
